Aspheric lenses
Aspheric lenses are elements in which at least one face is shaped to a surface of revolution about the lens axis, including conic sections but excluding a sphere. Typical areas of usage are varieties of lens barrel system assemblies.
Our aspheres are made from glass and quartz (typically using materials from SCHOTT, OHARA or CDGM). Moreover, we offer aspheric lenses of IR materials (such as ZnS, ZnSe, Ge, Si, CaF2) and metal mirrors.
- Convex and concave aspheric lenses
- Bi-aspheric lenses
- Rotational symmetric aspheric lenses
The possible diameter range (for glass and quartz) is 5mm – 280mm; (for IR materials) is 2mm – 140mm. The minimum concave radius is 50mm.

MLOptic offers professional metrology, including surface profiles and interferometers to verify the manufactured optics meet the form error specification. We inspect 100% of all optical elements during the manufacture process and provide test data for prototype (we test every single lens and provide reports).
Tactile Measurement: Taylor Hobson PGI1250
Measurement up to 200mm, stitching of high departure lens possible; highest precision provided for high departure aspheric lenses is P-V 0.15μm.
Non-tactile Measurement: Taylor Hobson LUPHO Scan
Fast non-contact 3D interferometric scanning of aspheric optics. Maximum tested element dimensions: 260mm (Diameter) x 75mm (height); Accuracy (P2V): ±50nm
Interferometric Measurement
6-inch Sub-Aperture Stitching Interferometer (SSi) for precision optics to measure high numerical aperture and large clear aperture parts up to 300mm. Moreover, there is transmitted wavefront testing. QED SSI is combined with correction on MTF polishing.
